Best genres for five-minute phone sessions
Not every strategy game suits a quick play. Deep campaigns want focus, and dropping one mid-wave to get off the bus is frustrating. Some genres just fit short sessions better.
Arcade puzzlers like Coin Strike are the obvious winners — instant restarts, no save anxiety, and nothing lost if you close the app. Short-level racers work too.
Tower defence sits in the middle. Games with discrete, bite-sized maps are great; endless-wave modes are a trap when you've only got a few minutes.
My phone now has a 'waiting around' folder of games I can open and close without commitment. It's changed how often I actually enjoy playing versus feeling locked in.
